There are thousands..maybe more like hundreds of articles on how to pick a good therapist. Or rather, the right therapist for you. We’re all like shoes, you just need to find the right fit.
Here’s actually every article summed up in to one sentence: ‘The most important thing that helps anyone grow in therapy, ever, is their relationship with their therapist’. If you find someone you vibe with, someone where after first talking to them or meeting them you think to yourself: ‘Ok, I could see myself taking what this person has to say seriously and I could see myself having some honest helpful conversations with them’, lean in to that. That’s a good thing.
There are certainly lots of crummy therapists out there though. If you can do some coaching on just a few specific topics like forgiveness or courage or marriage success then maybe that might be a good call too. But for now take a look at this article below.
